The effort was worth it

Teacher accreditation at level B1 or B2 requires a great deal of effort on the part of the teaching staff, but it is also true that it accredits you with a high level of digital teaching competence. Most of the centers have accredited a minimum of 15 teachers and this means having a faculty well prepared to incorporate tools for the development of computational thinking and STEM safely in the center.

B1 (60h) and B2 (70h) are programs that require a high level of teacher participation and involvement to achieve accreditation, as evidence of implementation of learning in the classroom is required.

Accreditation has been the previous and necessary step for the transformation of the centers.

Personalization, the key to success

Successfully implementing digital transformation tools requires a high level of personalization and contextualization. Educational centers must answer the "why", the "how", the "where", and "with whom". It is necessary to define in which courses we want to gradually implement the transformation, how it is linked to the curriculum, how it is evaluated, and above all which teachers will bring the transformation to the classrooms.

Each center must make the project their own and adapt it to their needs. Only by customizing the project do we have a chance of success.

The students, the main beneficiary

The most beautiful thing about the project is to see how the students take advantage of this transformation and incorporate the maker spaces into their daily lives. Project work is incorporated as an essential part of the curriculum and laser cutters begin to become part of the regular operation of classrooms.
The students demonstrate how these tools motivate them and generate confidence, a key element for their learning.

Although we still do not have evidence, some teachers anticipate an improvement in their behaviour, their ability to concentrate and the progression in the development of their skills.
